GENERAL INFORMATION

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN
(formerly known as “EMT-BASIC”)

 

ATTENDANCE:
Each student is expected to complete all classroom hours. In the event that you are unable to attend one of the class nights, you will be required to make up all assignments before the next scheduled class. The maximum days a student may be absent will be 9 (nine), unless previous arrangements have been made with the instructor.

COST:
The cost of the class is $850.00, plus an additional amount for books, uniforms, etc.

CLASS FORMAT:
The student shall be expected to demonstrate proficiency in each subject before proceeding to the next module. This includes obtaining, at a minimum, 80 percent on all course exams. Make up exams shall be completed within 2 weeks of the original date of exam. The course also includes 96 hours clinical experience on the ambulance.

NATIONAL REGISTRY EXAM:
All students successfully completing the Emergency Medical Responder Class will be encouraged to take the National Registry exam. In order to practice professionally as an Emergency Medical Responder, the student will need to successfully complete this exam.
The National Registry test will be taken online. The instructor will go over this procedure at the completion of the class.
